Pre-Season Outlook
Allen was a very productive runner at Wisconsin, a general fact made more specifically memorable in Allen's case because he played at such a young age. Allen played his true freshman season at 17 years old and somehow ran for 1,268 yards and 12 touchdowns (6.8 YPC), though it would also go down as the best of his three collegiate seasons. As a fourth-round pick Allen will compete with 2023 fifth-round pick Israel Abanikanda and 2023 fifth-round pick Isaiah Davis for reps, though it's unclear how that competition might turn out. Allen declined to run a 40-yard dash before the draft, raising concerns about whether his speed is good enough for his game to translate to the NFL level, but at 235 pounds Allen's power potential does stand out among the three.

Allen has made "a ton of plays as a pass catcher" during OTAs, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.tv.
Analysis: Breece Hall's absence with a lower-body injury has opened up first-team snaps for Allen and fellow rookie Isaiah Davis. It's a bit surprising to hear that Allen has made waves in the passing game, considering he's a 235-pound back who had 275 receiving yards over three seasons as the lead runner at Wisconsin.
