Placed on injured reserve
Schwartz (knee) was placed on the Dolphins' reserve/injured list Sunday.
Analysis: Schwartz injured his knee while being tackled on a 17-yard reception in Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. Tests later confirmed that Schwartz tore a ligament in his knee, and the 2021 third-round pick will now be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached with the Dolphins. Schwartz appeared in 11 regular-season games for the Browns last season, finishing with four catches on 10 targets for 51 yards while adding 57 rushing yards and a touchdown…read more

Tears ligament in knee
Schwartz suffered a ligament tear in his left knee during Friday's preseason loss to Tampa Bay, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Schwartz didn't play in either of the Dolphins' first two exhibition contests but was finally able to take the field Friday for the preseason finale. The 23-year-old caught both of his targets for 24 yards, but on his second catch -- a 17-yard reception thrown by Skylar Thompson -- he hurt his knee while being tackled. Jackson cites a source in indicating that Schwartz tore a ligament in his left knee on the play and suggests that the speedy wideout is headed either to IR or toward an injury…read more

Nabs reserve/future deal with Miami
The Dolphins signed Schwartz to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Analysis: Schwartz played with the Browns in each of his first two NFL seasons, recording 14 catches on 33 targets for 186 yards and a touchdown over 25 games and adding 96 yards and a touchdown on 10 rushes. He also worked as a kick returner in his rookie campaign, recording 322 yards in that role. The 2021 third-round draft pick suffered a hamstring injury during training camp last season and was eventually waived by Cleveland before joining Miami's practice squad in mid-November. He'll now have a…read more

Earns deal after workout
Schwartz signed with the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Schwartz had a workout with Miami on Tuesday and will now get an opportunity with the franchise. The 2021 third-round selection suffered a hamstring injury in camp with the Browns, which ultimately led to him reaching an injury settlement with the team after a stint on IR.

Works out in Miami
Schwartz (hamstring) had a workout with the Dolphins on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: The Browns waived Schwartz off injured reserve with an injury settlement in September and he has been quiet since. His workout in Miami indicates his health is back up to par. It remains to be seen if he will get a shot with the Fins.

Gets waived from IR
Cleveland waived Schwartz (hamstring) from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: After he missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring issue, the Browns decided to let go of Schwartz. He'll now have to look for another opportunity elsewhere.

Ends up on IR
Schwartz (hamstring) reverted to Cleveland's injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Schwartz was waived with an injury designation Sunday. He's now set to spend the entire 2023 campaign on IR, unless he and the Browns can agree on an injury settlement. The 2021 third-round pick appeared in 11 games last season, securing just four of 10 targets for 51 yards.

Headed for waiver wire
Schwartz (hamstring) was waived with an injury designation Sunday.
Analysis: Schwartz has been dealing with the injury for about a week, and he'll now potentially miss the 2023 campaign due to it. If the 2021 third-round selection clears waivers, he'll revert to IR, which will keep him on the shelf for the season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Expected to miss Sunday
Schwartz (hamstring) isn't expected to play in Cleveland's preseason finale, Doc Louallen of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Cleveland will most likely continue to hold Schwartz out with a hamstring injury after he missed practice earlier in the week. The young wideout is entering his third season after being selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Schwartz has only 14 career receptions, so expect the 22-year-old to serve as a depth piece in Cleveland's wide receiver room ahead of the coming season.

Sidelined with hamstring injury
Schwartz (hamstring) didn't practice Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Schwartz was working off to the side with the training staff. Injuries have been his downfall since he was drafted 91st overall in 2021. He missed nine games across his first two seasons and is in a heated competition for a roster spot this summer. Missing the final preseason came could be a big blow to his chances of making the team.

Better results Thursday
Schwartz caught four of 10 targets for 33 yards in Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia. He also had one carry for minus-5 yards.
Analysis: Schwartz bounced back from a tough Preseason Week 1 showing, when he was shut out on three targets with a drop. He made one tough catch in traffic Thursday, holding onto the ball after getting hit. Cleveland coaches gave the 2021 third-round draft pick a lot of chances to improve his roster status. Schwartz is in danger of losing a spot, particularly with the surprising play from free agent Austin Watkins.

No impact Friday
Schwartz did not catch any of three targets in Friday's preseason game against Washington.
Analysis: Schwartz played with the second-team offense late in the first quarter and into the second. He failed to hold onto one of his targets after getting hit and fumbling in last week's Hall of Fame Game. At this point, he's not looking like one of the top 53 and could lose valuable reps to others behind him on the depth chart.

Fumbles in HOF game
Schwartz caught his lone target for seven yards, had one carry for seven yards and fumbled in Thursday's preseason victory over the Jets.
Analysis: That the third-year wideout was playing in the ceremonial Hall of Fame Game indicates where he stands in terms of a roster spot -- on the wrong side of the bubble. His fumble, which led to a Jets field goal, may have sealed his fate.

Competing for roster spot
Schwartz is listed as third on the unofficial depth chart at one wideout position behind Amari Cooper and Jaelon Darden for Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Jets, the Browns' official site reports.
Analysis: Schwartz needs to have a big preseason to secure a roster spot. The third-round pick in 2021 has not come close to achieving the potential Cleveland thought he would provide. After a couple of disappointing, injury- and mistake-marred seasons, Schwartz watched the organization add several pieces during the offseason that put him on the bubble.

Back at practice
Schwartz, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, returned to practice Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Schwartz started training camp on the Browns' active/non-football injury list and was limited during OTAs. It's unclear whether he will be ready to go for the Browns' opening preseason game against the Jets on Aug. 3, but he is trending in the right direction. The 2021 third-round pick is buried in the Browns' wide receiver depth chart and will compete for a roster spot heading into 2023. Schwartz had four catches for 51 yards in 11 games last year while playing 87 snaps on special teams.

Schwartz (hamstring) was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Browns on Friday.

Drops further on depth chart
Schwartz (concussion) dropped further down the depth chart following Cleveland's acquisitions of Elijah Moore and Marquise Goodwin.
Analysis: The Browns went into the offseason with the goal of giving Deshaun Watson more weapons on offense, and the additions of Moore and Goodwin are a start. Cleveland can trot out Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Moore and Goodwin when it wants to run four-wide sets. Analysis: Schwartz sustained a concussion in Sunday's win over the Texans, placing his status for Week 14 in doubt. Minimal role in win
Schwartz caught his lone target for 12 yards, had one carry for six yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 27-14 win over Houston.
Analysis: Schwartz took a step back after he scored on a 31-yard touchdown run the previous week. On Cleveland's second series, his fumble led to Houston taking a first-quarter lead. The Browns were able to overcome the miscue, but it was another reminder of the ball security issues that have plagued Schwartz. He finished with five snaps on a day when the team lost slot receiver David Bell (hand). Demetric Felton (36 snaps) was the primary beneficiary of Bell's injury.

Scores on opening drive
Schwartz caught one of two targets for 17 yards and had one carry for a 31-yard touchdown run in Sunday's 23-17 overtime victory of Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski has prepared well on scripted opening drives and that continued Sunday, the sixth time in 11 games the Browns have struck on their opening possession. Schwartz, who has been invisible on offense this season, took a double-reverse flip from Kareem Hunt and followed superb blocking by quarterback Jacoby Brissett and wideout Amari Cooper to give Cleveland the early lead. Makes first catch since Week 1
Schwartz caught his lone target for three yards in Sunday's 39-17 loss to the Dolphins in Week 10.
Analysis: Schwartz hauled in his first pass since Week 1 while playing 12 snaps, his most since Week 6. He's been marginalized due to a series of mistakes and drops, sitting fifth on the wide receiver depth chart. For a time in 2021, Schwartz held a return role on kickoffs, but that spot now belongs to rookie Jerome Ford.

Healthy scratch Week 7
Schwartz (coach's decision) is inactive Week 7 against Baltimore.
Analysis: Schwartz will be a healthy scratch after suiting up each of the past three weeks, though considering he hasn't recorded a catch since Week 1, his absence shouldn't cause any issues for the offense. Rookie Michael Woods was active for the first time last week and even caught one of his two targets, so it's possible he has surpassed Schwartz on the depth chart.

Gets three garbage-time targets
Schwartz did not catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 38-15 loss to New England in Week 6.
Analysis: Schwartz has been invisible all season, but he got some late-game run when the Browns were down by three scores. It wasn't a very impressive showing for the second-year wideout, who dropped passes on consecutive plays on Cleveland's final drive. A case of the drops is largely why Schwartz has seen limited playing time this season.

Gets first target since Week 1
Schwartz did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
Analysis: The target was the first since Week 1 for Schwartz, who played a season low eight snaps on offense. The 2021 third-round pick has yet to make an impact and has apparently fallen out of favor.

Invisible in loss
Schwartz played 11 snaps and was not targeted in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Schwartz's diminished role continued in Week 4, the third consecutive week in which he saw 12 snaps or fewer without getting a target. One possible path to relevancy is in the return game after Jerome Ford, who had handled kick returns the last three games, suffered an ankle injury. Demetric Felton replaced Ford as the kickoff returner Sunday, but that was Schwartz's role for a long stretch in 2021.

Playing time dwindling
Schwartz was not targeted and played five offensive snaps in Thursday's 29-17 win over Pittsburgh in Week 3.
Analysis: Schwartz's playing time has dropped in successive weeks, from Week 1's 22 snaps to 12 then five. He has return experience and was in the mix during the preseason, but those chores have gone to others the first three weeks. Schwartz is offering little to the Browns or fantasy managers.

Goes untargeted in loss
Schwartz was not targeted over 12 snaps in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.
Analysis: Schwartz's playing time slipped from 23 snaps Week 1, one more than rookie David Bell, to 12 in Week 2, eight fewer than Bell. The Browns have a quick turnaround for Week 3's matchup with the Steelers on Thursday. Thus far, only tight ends Jesse James (wrist, out) and Harrison Bryant (thumb/thigh) are banged up, so it might be more of the same for Schwartz this week.

Schwartz caught one of two targets for 19 yards and ran twice for 20 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Schwartz had a difficult preseason during which he had an injury and a case of the drops, wiping out any chance of winning the No. 2 job. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski stressed the wideout has the support of coaches and teammates however, and that appeared to be the case in Week 1. "Anthony had a tough stretch - I think everybody understands that - but we support our players," Stefanski said. "We support our players when they are going through a tough stretch."
Analysis: Schwartz had a number of drops this preseason and struggled to find consistency during training camp. Uninspiring in finale
Schwartz caught one of six targets for eight yards in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bears.
Analysis: Schwartz is a lock to make the roster, but his preseason production doesn't engender much hope for him as a fantasy asset. Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reported Schwartz had at least two drops among the five balls he didn't catch Saturday, which prompted boos from the Browns fans at FirstEnergy Stadium. Schwartz has five drops over three preseason contests. At this point, Cleveland's wideout corps consists of Amari Cooper and a bunch of question marks.

Makes two grabs
Schwartz caught two of three targets for 20 yards and rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 21-20 preseason loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Schwartz got open for a couple of out routes, but rookie David Bell outperformed him with three catches for 46 yards in his preseason debut. Each wideout had a drop, but they may be more an issue for Schwartz, who dropped a couple in the preseason opener. With Amari Cooper cemented as the Browns' top wideout, Schwartz figures to compete with Bell and Donovan Peoples-Jones for complementary targets during the upcoming campaign.

Analysis: On the bright side, Schwartz suited up for the preseason opener despite recently battling a knee injury and was targeted three times by starting quarterback Deshaun Watson. Unfortunately, they were unable to connect on any of those three passes, which included two drops. Injures knee Thursday
Schwartz left Thursday's practice with a knee injury and will be further evaluated in the coming days, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: While Amari Cooper is entrenched as the Browns' top wide receiver and Donovan Peoples-Jones has a solid chance to open the season as the team's No. 2 option at the position, Schwartz and rookie David Bell -- who is dealing with a foot injury -- are next up in terms of depth chart slotting. If Schwartz's injury causes him to miss extended time, it could lead to added early-season opportunities for Bell. Plus, the team could consider adding further depth at wideout.

Among top three wideouts sans Bell
Schwartz opened training camp as one of the Browns' top three receivers after rookie David Bell (foot) was placed on the active/PUP list, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: A healthy Bell is the favorite to open the season as the starting slot receiver, but he'll be missing reps early in camp, which opens up an opportunity for Schwartz. The Browns don't anticipate adding another wideout, which suggests that Bell's injury isn't considered serious.

Browns standing pat at WR
Schwartz remains in the mix for the No. 2 wide receiver spot, and the Browns are not compelled to add a second proven veteran wideout at this time, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: The organization acquired Amari Cooper as the No. 1 receiver during the offseason and don't feel the need to add a veteran No. 2 for the sake of it. High-profile receivers like T.Y. Remains fourth wideout
Schwartz did not catch either of his two targets in Monday's 26-14 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski suggested a greater role for Schwartz over the final two games, but the rookie wideout was fourth among his position group with 24 snaps. That was 17 fewer than Rashard Higgins, who was also targeted five times. Now that the Browns are eliminated from the postseason, Schwartz could gain more playing time at Higgins' expense in Week 18 against the Bengals. Expanding role
Schwartz is expected to see his role on offense grow over the final two weeks of the season, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "I think for sure with Anthony coming off the concussion protocol and getting into these games, getting him some touches, I think his role will grow," Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said.
Analysis: Schwartz, a 2021 third-round pick, opened the season down the wideout depth chart while also being used as a returner on kickoffs, but he appeared to inch ahead of veteran Rashard Higgins prior to sustaining a concussion. He then missed three games before returning to play the previous two, although Higgins received more snaps. Schwartz scored his first touchdown last week and gives the Browns another speed element outside the numbers. It's unclear if the rookie's role will grow at the expense…read more

Scores first NFL touchdown
Schwartz caught his lone target for a five-yard touchdown and ran twice for an additional 24 yards in Week 16's 24-22 loss to Green Bay on Saturday.
Analysis: Schwartz was responsible for Cleveland's final score when he hauled in a dart from quarterback Baker Mayfield. It was his first red-zone target of the season and first touchdown in the NFL. The rookie was back in the lineup for a second consecutive game following a three-game absence due to a concussion, but he did not take on the role as kick returner, a spot he held for seven weeks prior to his concussion. Rashard Higgins has passed him on the depth chart at wideout, but there is a future for…read more

No targets, returns in loss
Schwartz was not targeted over 13 snaps and did not return a kickoff in Monday's 16-14 loss to Las Vegas.
Analysis: Schwartz returned to the lineup after missing four weeks -- three games plus a bye -- due to a concussion. He saw his playing time drop, and the rookie did not line up as a kick returner, a job he's held for seven weeks prior to his absence. The decrease in snaps and removing him from the kick-return team may be attributed to Browns wanting to ease him back on the field.

Suits up Monday
Schwartz (concussion) is listed as active for Monday's game against the Raiders, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With fellow wideout Jarvis Landry and tight end Austin Hooper currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Schwartz has a chance to pick up some targets in his first game action since Week 10. However, with the likes of Donovan Peoples-Jones, Rashard Higgins and David Njoku also in the mix to catch passes from fill-in QB Nick Mullens, the speedy Schwartz -- who has put together an 8-117-0 stat line in 10 games to date -- profiles as a speculative Week 15 fantasy lineup option.

Now listed as questionable
Schwartz cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and is now listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Raiders, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Schwartz had initially been deemed out for the contest, which was originally scheduled for Saturday. Due to COVID-19 concerns within the Cleveland organization, the NFL pushed back the Week 15 contest to Monday at 5 p.m. ET contest, giving the wideout renewed hope of playing. If Schwartz is active following a three-game absence, he could have a role in Cleveland's receiving corps along with Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rashard Higgins, especially if Jarvis Landry (illness) isn't activated from the…read more

Ruled out Saturday
Schwartz (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Raiders, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Schwartz was unable to clear the league's concussion protocols ahead of Week 15, and he'll be forced to miss a fourth consecutive game. Rashard Higgins and Ja'Marcus Bradley will likely see increased playing time Saturday.

Still in concussion protocols
Schwartz is still in concussion protocols Tuesday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Schwartz has been in protocols since suffering a concussion in Week 10 against the Patriots. His potential absence Saturday against the Raiders is magnified by the additions of Jarvis Landry and JoJo Natson to the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday. If Schwartz can clear protocols in time and is deemed fit enough to play, he could be looking at ample opportunity in Week 15 against Las Vegas.

Won't play Sunday
Schwartz (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Schwartz, who suffered his concussion back in Week 10, thus is slated to miss his third straight game, with his next chance to suit up being the Browns' Week 15 tilt against the Raiders on Dec. 18. In his continued absence, look for Jarvis Landry and Donovan Peoples-Jones to head the team's wideout corps this weekend, with Ja'Marcus Bradley and possibly Rashard Higgins also factoring in.

Not practicing again
Schwartz (concussion) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: With consecutive absences from practice following the Browns' Week 13 bye, Schwartz doesn't appear to have any notable advancement through the NFL's concussion protocol since suffering the head injury Nov. 14 against the Patriots. Barring a dramatic step forward in his practice activity Friday, Schwartz looks set to miss a third straight game Sunday against Baltimore.

Still sidelined
Schwartz remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and won't practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Given that the Browns are coming off their bye week, it's not the best sign that Schwartz has yet to be cleared to practice. The rookie wideout still has two more chances to get back on the field for workouts prior to Sunday's game against the Ravens, but his status for that contest looks cloudy at that the moment.

Remains in concussion protocol
Schwartz (concussion) didn't practice Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Schwartz suffered a concussion during the Browns' Week 10 loss to the Patriots and has been sidelined since. There was optimism that the rookie wideout would be available after Cleveland's Week 13 bye, but he remains in concussion protocols and is in danger of missing his third straight game. If he is unable to clear protocols before Week 14, then Donovan Peoples-Jones, Ja'Marcus Bradley and Rashard Higgins are all candidates for added WR snaps against Baltimore.

Remains sidelined in Week 12
Schwartz (concussion) won't play Sunday night against the Ravens, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Schwartz, who also missed this past Sunday's game against the Lions, now will target a return to action following the Browns' bye week, when the team faces the Ravens again on Sunday, Dec. 12. With Schwartz out and Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) listed as questionable, Rashard Higgins and perhaps Ja'Marcus Bradley are candidates for added WR snaps this weekend.

Listed as non-participant
Schwartz (concussion) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's injury report, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Although Schwartz is reportedly progressing through the league's concussion protocol, he has been listed as a non-participant for two consecutive days to begin the week. If he hopes to play Sunday against the Ravens, he'll presumably need to practice in some capacity Friday.

Will miss Wednesday's practice
Schwartz (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Petrak adds that Schwartz -- who was inactive for the Browns' Week 11 win over the Lions -- is progressing through the NFL's concussion protocol, so he has a chance to be cleared for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Along with Schwartz, fellow wideouts Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) Jarvis Landry (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, but the latter's absence was likely maintenance-related.

Ruled out for Week 11
Schwartz (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Fellow wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) is listed as questionable for the contest after returning to practice Friday, but with Schwartz already ruled out for Week 11 action, it looks like Rashard Higgins will see his share of snaps versus Detroit on Sunday while working as Cleveland's No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver.

Schwartz (concussion) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Catches one ball in win
Schwartz caught his lone target for 15 yards and did not have a kick return in Sunday's 41-16 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Schwartz, who has been getting very little run on offense, did not experience an uptick in opportunities in the first game after Cleveland released wide receiver Odell Beckham. He did, however, play 28 snaps, which was more than Rashard Higgins' three. Schwartz was not targeted and returned one kickoff for 10 yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: The rookie wideout was on the field for just six offensive snaps, even though Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) was inactive. Schwartz caught two of three targets for 22 yards, had one carry for minus-2 yards, and returned one kickoff for 26 yards in Thursday's 17-14 win over Denver.
Analysis: Schwartz appears to have escaped the doghouse following a Week 2 mistake that resulted in a turnover and led to quarterback Baker Mayfield's left shoulder injury. The rookie was targeted just four times with decreased playing time from Week 2 to Week 5, but Schwartz reversed that trend over the last two games. Makes first grab since Week 1
Schwartz caught two of three targets for 11 yards and returned two kickoffs for 54 yards in Sunday's 37-14 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: Schwartz, whose 26 snaps were the most he's played since Week 1, caught his first pass since the regular-season opener. Odell Beckham missed a few series with a shoulder injury, giving Schwartz additional playing time. If Beckham's shoulder acts up following the game, Schwartz could get enhanced playing time in Week 7 when the Browns host the Broncos on Thursday Night Football.

Takes over kickoff-return role
Schwartz did not catch his lone target in nine offensive snaps and returned five kickoffs for 109 yards in Sunday's 47-42 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Schwartz has gone four weeks without a catch following an opening-week debut that implied he would be one of Cleveland's top producers at wide receiver. As it turns out, Rashard Higgins' hamstring injury leading up to Week 1 may have been the main reason for Schwartz's involvement. The positive news is that the rookie, who did not return a kick in three years at Auburn, appears to have become the team's top kickoff returner, taking over for Demetric Felton, who remains the primary punt returner.

Appears as kick returner
Schwartz did not catch his lone target and returned one kickoff for 26 yards in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Vikings.
Analysis: Schwartz has not caught a ball since snaring three in an opening-week loss to the Chiefs. Since then, he's been targeted exactly once in three straight contests. Sunday did see the 2021 third-round draft pick take on kickoff return duties. Through the first three weeks, fellow rookie Demetric Felton had served as the primary kick returner, but Felton's workload on offense is growing.

Schwartz did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Schwartz received quarterback Baker Mayfield's attention just once for the second straight week. That comes after a five-target effort in Week 1's loss to Kansas City. It could be that an interception in Week 2 -- a play on which the rookie didn't finish his route -- played a role in targets going to others. Schwartz did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Texans.
Analysis: Schwartz had an impressive NFL debut in Week 1, catching three balls for 69 yards as part of the fill-in crew for the injured Odell Beckham (knee), but an early mistake appeared to take him out of the plan Week 2. Schwartz (knee) is active Week 2 against the Texans, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: While Schwartz will be able to suit up despite a trio of limited practices this week, he still projects to be behind both Jarvis Landry and Donovan Peoples-Jones on the wide receiver depth chart. Peoples-Jones will be called upon to start in place of Odell Beckham (knee), but the eventual return of Beckham could jeopardize the targets of Schwartz in Week 3 and beyond. Questionable for Sunday
Schwartz (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after practicing in a limited fashion this past week, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: If he's available for Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET tilt, Schwartz, who caught three of his five targets for 69 yards and gained 17 rushing yards on his only carry in Week 1's loss to Kansas City, could continue to see added work in the Browns' passing game, with Odell Beckham (knee) still out. Impresses in NFL debut
Schwartz caught three of five targets for 69 yards and gained 17 rushing yards on his only carry in Sunday's 33-29 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: The 2021 third-round pick missed significant time this summer and into the preseason due to a hamstring strain, but the lost time didn't seem to hamper Schwartz much in his NFL debut, and he was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the absence of Odell Beckham (knee). Despite the chemistry he showed with Baker Mayfield, Schwartz's role could shrink in Week 2 against the Texans if Beckham is ready to return to action.

Improves with limited practice
Schwartz managed to improve over the course of training camp despite missing significant practice time due to a hamstring injury, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Schwartz was hampered by the hamstring, which he injured during organized team activities, and it extended into training camp. He eventually made it on the practice field in mid-August and played the third and final preseason game against the Falcons. Cabot believes the lack of practice time isn't a deterrent to playing time for the rookie, as he's responded well to the tutelage of receivers coach Chad O'Shea. Analysis: Schwartz, who battled an injured hamstring since the middle of the summer, made his preseason debut. He didn't participate in many practices during training camp, so it's unclear if the 2021 third-round pick can contribute immediately Week 1. Analysis: Schwartz's anticipated absence is injury-related, and his status for the team's preseason finale next weekend is TBD. Analysis: The injury is a missed opportunity for Schwartz, the 2021 third-round pick who has watched 2020 sixth-round pick Donovan Peoples-Jones become the early star in camp. If he were healthy, Schwartz could gobble up reps that are available because the Browns are playing it cautious with Odell Beckham (knee) and Jarvis Landry.

Expected to be ready for camp
The Browns expect Schwartz (hamstring) will be ready when training camp begins July 27, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Schwartz brings elite speed at wide receiver, but he has a host of more experienced players in front of him, so expectations should be measured for the third-round pick out of Auburn. The rookie could carve out some long-term value if he shows he's capable of being more than just a deep-ball threat, but Schwartz will likely begin his professional career as a situational receiver.

The Browns are hoping to develop Schwartz (hamstring) into a kick returner, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Cleveland already planned on giving Schwartz a look on punt returns, and it looks like it will also try him out in the kick return game. However, he is currently nursing a hamstring injury, but that is not expected to linger into training camp. The rookie third-round pick recorded the fastest 40-yard dash of any receiver at 4.25 seconds.
